It is a versatile and complete desktop PC with very small dimensions and with Windows 11 Pro on board.

A PC that can also be installed on the back of the monitor, with good power and equipped with large expandable memory and numerous connections.

Let's therefore analyze all the features of the Geekom A5 in detail.

Design, connections and technical characteristics

The Geekom mini PC boasts an elegant and compact design, with excellent build quality. Let's start with the plastic case with very small dimensions of 117 x 112 x 49.2 mm (weight 652 g), with the possibility of installation on the back of the monitor using a VESA bracket supplied; package that also includes an HDMI cable and external power supply.

We also remember the metal frame and the ventilation grills on the sides and rear. Numerous ports are available with the front side hosting two USB-A 3.2 ports, an audio jack in/out socket and the power button. We continue with the back where we find a USB 3.2 Type-A, a USB 2.0 Type-A, two HDMI 2.0b (4K at 60Hz compatible), two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (with 8K video output at 30Hz), a 2.5G RJ45 LAN and power supply input.

There is an SD slot on the left side and the Kensington connection on the right. Finally, we mention the wireless connectivity with WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2

Let's now deal with the technical characteristics starting from the AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor (8 cores, 16 threads, 16 MB cache, 4.4 GHz, 35W TDP). We continue with the integrated Radeon Vega 8 GPU and 32 GB RAM, dual-channel DDR4-3200, expandable up to 64 GB. Let's move on to the 512 GB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 3×4 NVMe/SATA SSD, expandable up to 2TB. Furthermore, a free 2.5″ 7mm SATA interface is available, up to 2TB, for storage expansion.

Software, performance and price

We continue our review with the analysis of the software. The Geekom arrives with the Windows 11 Pro operating system, free of additional programs. 

Let's now turn to the performance analysis of the A5. Our opinion on this product is, in general, positive. From Geekom comes a complete and versatile mini PC with a good AMD processor, a fast SSD and a RAM that can reach up to 64 GB. Going into detail, it is an excellent PC for Office programs, web browsing, viewing 4K content and can also be used for light photo and video editing. Furthermore, it can also be used with older video games, with Full HD resolution and medium or low detail. Quick startup of applications and Windows, with a fast SSD that reaches 3,500 MB/s reading. 

Positive opinion also on the numerous connections available. We remember, in particular, the possibility of connecting the A5 to 4 monitors simultaneously. 

Easily expandable PC, equipped with an efficient integrated cooling system, with a decidedly noisy internal fan.
