Design, connections and technical characteristics
The Geekom mini PC boasts a classic design, with excellent build quality. Let's start with the black plastic case with very small dimensions of 120 x 130 x 58 mm, with a weight of 0.9 kg and the possibility of installation on the back of the monitor using a bracket supplied. Package that also includes an HDMI cable and 150W external power supply.
We also remember the ventilation vents on the sides, rear and bottom.
There are numerous ports available with the front side hosting a USB4 Type-C (DP1.4 support, 7680 x 4320 @60Hz), 2 USB 3.2 Gen1, an audio jack (microphone/headphone output/input). Front side which also houses the power button and the SSD activity LED. We continue with the back where we find a USB4 (DP1.4 support, Thunderbolt 4, 40Gbps, 7680 x 4320 @60Hz, 5V-3A and external power via monitor), 3 USB 3.2 Gen1, 2 HDMI 2.1 (4096 x 2160 @60Hz) , a Display Port 1.4 (5120 x 2160@60Hz), a 2.5G Ethernet and the input for the external power supply. Let's not forget the lateral Kensington attachment and the ring for a padlock that allows you to block the opening of the PC.
Let's move on to wireless connectivity with WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.
Let's now deal with the technical characteristics starting from the powerful AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor with 8 cores, 16 threads and maximum frequency of 4.9 GHz. 6nm CPU, with a TDP of 35W. Alternatively, you can install the less powerful AMD Ryzen 7 6800H (8 cores, 16 threads, 4.7 GHz). Let's not forget the processor cooling fan with dust expulsion system. We continue with the integrated AMD Radeon 680M GPU with 12 cores and a frequency of 2.2 GHz. Its overall performance is comparable to that of the NVIDIA GTX1050TI discrete graphics card.
Let's move on to the memory: up to 32 GB of Crucial DDR5 Ram at 4,800MHz Dual Channel, with two Sodimm slots occupied. Let's not forget the 1TB Kingston SSD equipped with an M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 4×4 interface. Furthermore, a free 2.5" SATA 3 interface up to 2 TB and an additional M2 slot (max 2 TB) for storage expansion are available.
Software, performance and price
Let's now analyze the software of the Geekom AS6 equipped with the fully configured Windows 11 Pro operating system.
Let's now turn to performance analysis. Our opinion on this product is absolutely positive. In fact, it is one of the best mini PCs currently on the market. A device that can boast decidedly high performance thanks to the powerful AMD processor, supported by a fast SSD and 32 GB of Ram.
Going into detail, it is an excellent PC for Office programs, web browsing, viewing 4K streaming content and suitable for photo and video editing. Furthermore, it can also be used with 3D video games, with Full HD resolution at high detail (for example GTA V at 60 fps) and in 4K at low/medium detail (for example Forza Horizon 5 at 30 fps). Quick startup of applications and Windows, with a fast SSD that reaches 3,600 MB/s reading.
Very positive opinion on the numerous connections available: we recall in particular the presence of the latest generation WiFi, the possibility of connecting the PC to 4 monitors simultaneously and the USB4.
